Is anybody else still pi---d that only underperforming salaried employees are being offered a chance to walk away with severance and not the rest of us? I don't see people mentioning it that much anymore, so I guess the majority has accepted this as being okay. Frankly, this upsets me much more than EVs or whatever else seems to be the subject of the day or week.

I can understand the frustration expressed on here by those not getting a package. Why, when you are a big whiner, hasn't your manager seen fit to push you out the door? Must have been all those years of brown nosing.
If you were in an area offering voluntary packages over the last several years, you have no legitimate complaint. You rolled the dice.
Never heard do much from such greedy people! The rest of the world gets nothing for getting canned. Let that soak in! Entitled brats!
Why are uou so pi---d? Because people are getting 3-9 months of pay AND the boot, while you continue to make great money and don't have to look for another job? Jealousy is ugly!
There have been several buyout offered over the last 10 years. If you wanted a package, you had plenty of opportunities
The thing that bothers me is the reason driving this new policy. I don’t buy that it is to eliminate the “100” people a year put in PEP plans in a streamlined fashion and provide the person an option to tag out.
It is too late for ford, they have burned the bridge with employees, customers, and friends of family. All they had to do was give a voluntary to NON poor performers.
If you are pi---d you can always quit. Or, you can continue working. You can hope for a cutback in your area at some future date. Your choice. "I quit - where is my severance check?" What a collection of id--ts. You should be selected for a package.
@1cad+1jOYHCZi you shouldn’t be surprised Ford has been sending the same message for many many years. Mediocrity and poor performance pays!
Everyone gets same 2-3% range yearly increase, the amount varies by where you are in your band - salary below mid point you get higher increase. Salary above mid point you get lower increase. The poor performers are promoted. The high performers are used as pack mules until they are pushed out or simply conform to the Ford standard of sitting and doing little to nothing.
I was on one of those forced-march projects where two people were doing literally all the work while nine people sat and did nothing. The LL6 forced the two who were doing all the work to work 80+ hour weeks for 6 months. This included working every weekend for launches.. The LL6 promised both comptime and a promotion for the two doing all the work. He told us we would be able to take off October, November and December as comptime. So we complete the project in mid-Sept and the LL6 has a big celebration and gives everyone on the team a $50 gift card, promotes one of the do nothings to LL6, and then at the end of the celebration assigns another forced-march project that needed to be completed by EOY. When we reminded him that two of us would be taking comptime Oct-Dec, he claimed he had never told us we would be getting comptime, and he expected 3 more months of good effort from us. His schedule had us working thru the holidays. We met with both the LL5 and HR. The LL6 lied to the LL5 and to HR and guess who they backed?
To add icing to the cake the LL6 blocked both our moves out of his group and did a whisper campaign on what lazy nut-jobs we both were. Neither of us did a lick of work for the two years, until the LL6 was relocated. We endured threats, bullying, character as----------n we simply adopted the behavior of our 9 teammates and sat and did nothing. The LL6 brought in 5 contractors to do work and never successfully completed another project.
I will probably never buy a new car again and all makes and models are now free game.
What a message it sends. 9 months pay if you aspire to be a poor performer. This sucks! Why doesn't anyone care about this?
I was SIRP'd in August - and I am definitely p----d about poor performers getting this offer. I've heard that their severance package is greater than the 3 months that I got.
I learned from this website that many of the people in August were selected by an outside (consulting) firm. I was a high achiever with a great track record. But I was also paid well for my grade and my age a good balance for all the older colleagues who were let go.
At the time I felt somewhat relieved to believe that my performance had nothing to do with my layoff. That I was just some data point on a spreadsheet.
But to hear that actual POOR performers are being offer the same - or better - severance?! That really annoys me.
I don't like cake without frosting. I am still very ticked off.
I am over it. It would have been the icing on the cake to get 9 months severance, but I am happy taking the lump sum and moving on. It has been a pleasant 34 year career for me.
Yes I'm still very mad but I thought no one else cared.
It's too late to put in for retirement before November 30 so we're stuck riding this out for the next few years.
No, most people can figure out that if someone is leaving on their own, they don't need to be pushed out with severance. It is not a difficult concept.
,,,,,,, Ford chooses not to reward you for your retirement decision ...... Ford cares about Ford, not so much about "right" and "wrong".... "
Well said, this is all about dollars, ... everyone knows the EV and need for diff skillsets is all a smokescreen to justify the separation of older workers that were pension eligible, next in line are the so-called underperformers to make room for DF's ' Friends and Family. '
Farley is ruthless, he is eliminating anyone and everyone and thing that will not add value to the bottomline. Achievements, accomplishments are meaningless. Nepotism is the norm. Been at Ford 10 years and have seen this pattern over and over, JF has taken it to next level.
Next round of layoffs, probably end of Q1 '23. Quality,R&A, Ford Next and design orgs will get hit hard. Poor Baumbick, gets promoted to be eliminated. Going to be a bloodbath in 2023.
Not really PO as well it is all a just game being played for legal cover, lovely of mgmt to pit workers against each other and disparage workers though.
They are just claiming they are targeting low performers, but we all know that is utter b s
Lower level LL get told who should have “declining” performance and surprise, surprise its the older dudes with pensions and the costly high performers. The boat anchors and boot lickers somehow are never on the list, makes Ford sense - they contribute nothing and continue to contribute nothing so steady state, no decline.
You were loyal to Ford and Ford valued you for your contribution as an employee. You are not a poor performer so your retirement does not add value to Ford.
So Ford chooses not to reward you for your retirement decision.
Ford cares about Ford, not so much about "right" and "wrong".
