Correction. All 5 shifts. Lets not kid each other we all know E shift is going to get wiped out more so than A,B,C,D

The 29th/30th 4 shift hypothesis would explain why they bumped the globalcast to the 29th first and then further to the 1st.

Using the old IBM layoff practices, Tuesday 29th/Wednesday 30th hits all four 12 hour shifts close together, followed by a "We remaining employees must work harder and cut costs" Globalcast on the 1st.

Lack of participation? I was given a hard time by my manager as I had not finished it by the 13th, when the deadline was 15th. I was told that the system will lock on the 15th... This is so poorly managed, just like everything else...

Compass was extended due to lack of participation. Who would want to do a compass after being told layoffs are imminent.

Managers have been asked to bump the "to be fired" into the lower bracket to justify dismissal in case of civil action.

It means not necessarily to submit unless you are still on payroll on 30th and if your manager are still around then.

It’s been well established compass is complete and utter bullsh-t….. but this is how they use it. It’s been documented and verified on dozens of posts on here over the years.

So while normally it is just a fake system. When they need to leverage it to justify an action management it becomes their sledge hammer.

So ever notice you will get highest possible rating for the year, but it was a mediocre year? Well management has artificially inflated your score to justify giving a promotion because on their time scale scheduling (this is a real thing they secretly have) of raises and promotions it is your turn to receive one. (Pecking order). But then on years where you were lights out stellar with tremendous achievements and goals achieved you get an average rating?? Isn’t that weird??

Well the opposite is true too. They can use the same artificial system and procedure to cull the herd. And unfortunately a lot of us are about to get very unjustified ratings. A lot of us are about to be shocked and surprised. Just know it’s fake. Hard not to take it personal, but it’s fake and unfortunately our name ended up on their list for one reason or another.

It will be interesting to see the makeup of all the “bad performers,” this year. Especially with pretty decent earnings reports throughout year. My guess is these “bad performers,” will be US based on older side that integral semi-leaders of various teams and projects and therefore have larger salaries.

I will add that since Globalfoundries has had THE industry high attrition rate for a number of years combined with extremely difficultly attracting and recruiting new grads and talent to hire; they will go for biggest bang for their buck. Meaning higher paid individuals will be let go as opposed to or in place of several lower salary people. GF is struggling on headcount so the more then can keep the better

They extended it to December 2nd.
