After all phones have Esim capability and SIM cards are phased out, what is the point to have stores? Verizon could just put up pick up boxes in every city and customers could pick up their items from the pick up locations along with their accessories that were position perfectly on the website. Why would they need sales reps? We don’t fix phones, we wouldn’t be changing SIM cards, customers can put on their own screen protectors. What will be the point of having all these store?

We have mailboxes that these items already magicall show up in. It does go alot smoother and less expensively especially for accessories if I order them anywhere but Verizon.
If someone needs that personal touch walk into a best buy they won’t let you take more than a step in the one near me without being up in your face ‘helping’.
I had a customer get upset because they received a digital code offer texted to them that clearly directs to a link to order online. The same offer did not exist in the store. The customer asked why we couldn’t do it in store and my reply was that Verizon wants you to stay home and order everything online. She then pretended to be concerned that if everyone did that then I would be out of a job. I boasted to her that would be the best thing to happen to me in my life right now. She left bewildered and gave me a 1 on the survey mentioning everything I just talked about. BTW a word about survey scores. Is everyone aware that since Verizon changed the commission pay plan the national score average has dropped two consecutive years in the corporate retail locations ?
What about all the boomers that can’t even text on their flip phones they will be stranded in the middle of the desert without good old solutions specialist at the Vzw stores
We will just teleport the phone to them
I helped 4 people today activate iphone 14’s in store because they don’t have wifi at home. So there’s that. Many people still like face to face transactions and actually leave their house or basement sometimes. So there’s that. The company still expects a certain percentage of upselling or slamming if you will done at the store level. Nobody is ordering VZ Home protect online. Nobody. So there’s that.
Looks like someone isn't aware of what a disaster the website is if you're trying to order something.
To be frank Stores are needed for mouth breathers. Some people just can’t do anything online. Also lets not forget that our website is a crapshoot when it comes to actually working. So once eSim is widely adopted stores will be needed for the worst of the worst when it comes to tech illiterate customers and for people having website issues. Which would explain why they are coming after commission and tenured sales folks.
Assuming the website works and the customer is not completely brainless a sales person is not needed.
Why would you need a "pickup box" when you could have it delivered to your house or business? You make no sense.
