I worked as a telephonic social worker in 2016-2017..3 times a year we would literally get sick because we knew like clockwork there would be layoffs. But first you would go through audits that was suppose to weed people out and left you so stressed out that you would leave the company. Management was a joke, no support what so ever. Mentally and physical health was in jeopardy. I am so glad I got out while I could and before I was affected by a layoff..but by reading some of the text it seems like the same pattern. My thing is why hire so many people if you know you are going to lay them off.. Humans should be ashame

Humana has changed their direction many times in the past few years….ECOM, regionalizing, now this push for in home….not many insurance companies do what Humana is doing…they said years ago they weren’t an insurance company, but a company that does insurance. They are aggressively marketing certain aspects. They are investing heavily in centerwell….read some of the articles about the expansion and growth. United and Aetna aren’t investing in in home like Humana. There’s nothing “funny” going on. I was an hcmss. Our first cut was within a year after our training, culling those with certain degrees from the team. And, people with great audits got laid off. A leader once said to me, in a RIF, it’s not what you’ve done, but what you can do or provide for the new direction. So whatever skills, background or ability better meet the move forward stays….but, this rif was also financial, and many mid level managers were impacted, as well as jobs that were streamlined
Isn’t it “funny” that this is where the constant conversations happen? Look up any other big insurance company on this site.. not many posts compared to this! Something is very different at Humana compared to similar companies.
