Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Millimeter wave will never have ROI

The operating budget for millimeter wave should actually come straight out of the marketing and ad spend budgets. Because that’s all it will ever be.

Just like some businesses who maintain an unprofitable location in NYC for “visibility”. C-band is where it’s at. A feather in your cap gets you lots of attention, but it’s the umbrella that keeps you dry.

5G mmWave needed to sell hot dogs and beer LOL. No way 4G can handle a beer selling transaction.

Verizon’s spectrum doesn’t seem to penetrate anything. I get no signal indoors at 99% of the places I go including at home.

They just rolled out cband at my house. Only works in the yard or with my phone in the window. Cband sucks too. Mmwave I've never seen in the wild so I guess it's an improvement.

I remember I worked for a company and they hired a new visionary that was supposed to save us, but later found out he was in the pockets of the manufacturer. He left as soon as the contract was signed to buy a bunch of equipment from the vendor.

Fixed wireless keeps everyone busy- marketing, tech support, logistics, stores. $500 in marketing, original equipment , replacement equipment and phone support invested per customer that stays 2 weeks tops.

Hanz always say first to market means the best ! First to market means we test unproven technology that fails.

ATT did it right by just relabeling LTE as 5G and uninformed customers were happy cause it worked !

Chicago loves their 5G….from T mobile because it actually works when moving.

5G mmWave is hit or miss, 1% hit 99% miss. Every FWA sub cancelled after a week of this garbage.

5G mmWave in every NFL stadium!

Cause u know fans go to nfl games to surf the web at 1gig from those mmWave transmitters every 5 feet.

Only ones profiting are equipment makers and municipalities collecting microcell attachment fees .
