Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Payroll mutiny at some stores

Some stores are ignoring the payroll budget or lack thereof and scheduling team members. Wish it was that easy at other locations. We were cut so badly only 1 person is working the week of Thanksgiving and they are hourly. We're going to be on the bad list for soda order fulfillment issues lol.

Theft at my store is crazy right now. Employees are stealing , my ASM is freaking out because she can no longer afford her rent and bills. She’s not salary or full time so she’s been cut to 18 hours a week and now has a second job. I’m sure our inventory is fu---d because we can’t prevent any of the thefts. I’m sure loss prevention will have a ball with that in 5 years when they notice it (idk why FOLLET takes forever to notice theft and fraud) but I guess it makes sense when the Cannes don’t hold footage long and there’s no audio lol it’s like we would have to call logs prevention ourselves which we can’t do because we don’t know what’s missing! It’sa mess. I love my job but I can’t stick with FOLLET if this how it’s going to be. I guess that’s what happens when you sell your book material company to a guy that wants to turn it into campus merch only and force you to be all ACCESS so they don’t have to pay for physical books. Yea, put us on a hiring freeze while we slowly drown for rush but continue to hire 6 figure knobs at a corporate level.

The theft at my store is ridiculous! I saw a customer put on a pair of sweatpants and just walk out. I couldn't stop her because I had customers in line and was the only associate in the store. New store manage told me I should have stopped her! We're not allowed to stop shoplifters or didn't you fulfill that portion of your training yet . The best loss prevention is customer service, but when you have no one giving service you have theft. Stupids.

This makes me so sick. Hacking hours and creating a paradise for shoplifters appears to be an approach that makes no sense, unless of course you blame the poor saps still standing at the store level for shrink. What a disservice to all, from the "team members" and students to the educational institutions who have absolutely no clue as to what is going on.... shameful.

Customer complained about having to wait in line. I rang them up and told them if they have an issue or concern, please complete the survey at the bottom of the receipt. Ha!! :-)

Cut the GVPs. They suck from the teet, and take naps afterwards.

Schedule what you need. They can’t afford to lose you. Nobody is applying for the sh-t show.
Tell your campus contacts what’s going on. RM & up aren’t saying squat. Campus can enforce a service level agreement and demand X number of employees at all times.

Turn out one team meant teams of one

If they want to cut expenses, they can stop spending money on trip and get rid of half the GVPs. They don't do anything!!

The campuses won't know unless we tell them.

More campuses need to take a stand and schedule staff for when they're needed to service the customers. This is insanity.

Follett is a for profit company that is showing numerous signs that they are not making a profit. Of course they are going to look to "cut expenses" in any way they feel is possible, realistic or not.

Most of the higher ups (not RMs, but GVP and higher) have never actually worked in a campus store. There is a major disconnect from what the students want and need versus what is being provided. Of course Follett is going to continue to fail.

There sure is a pi----g match going on. Just think about what the future holds…think about it…if they are willing to cut the experienced help for rush to just prove a point. It”s just going to get uglier!

How do stores not comply? I was over by 1 hour and got emails and calls from RM.

Yet on LinkedIn Follett is hosting parties in Vegas! So we have no staff no help and no answers but they are all having paid vacations

Some store managers are being threatened with termination if they don't remove all PT hours from Kronos. FT people with previously scheduled vacations were told they can't use their vacation hours anymore and reduced to less than 30 hours.

Can't steal earned vacation.
Time for some bluffs to be called.
Shut the store down.
I'm SURE the schools will understand...

@ajq+1jJ8yQVY: Apparently they are pushing back hard on RM's to fall in line. Countless calls in the past 2 weeks. They are monitoring Kronos like nobodies business.

I never followed HO’s labor budget, I knew what my stores needed & when. Sounds like HO still has no clue.

I always used to schedule what we needed to run the store, regardless of what some spreadsheet said. I'm no longer there, though, so I'm curious: how is HO cracking down on this, if at all?
