Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

What would make them finally start valuing us?

There is no hope that Humana will ever change its extremely bad attitude towards us. Anyone disagree? I wish someone would tell me that at some point the company will have to start valuing and respecting its employees more, but I really don't see what would force those at the top to do so.

That's easy to say and hard to do. I'm an ACOH and work has always been a place to bring me value. When someone literally reads a script and no longer values me or my team, all those "you're unimportant", "unwanted", "worthless" memories flood to the surface. Then, to throw more fuel on the fire, senior leaders send out about a dozen "congratulations" announcements showing who is getting promoted AND talking about how amazing AIP is going to be. Not realizing how this endlessly tortures those who have to pickup the pieces of their lives and try to survive the needless anguish unleashed. All I'm going to say is there is not enough empathy or sympathy coming from the organization or leadership. Heck, my team and I have yet to even see what the severance package is and HR sits on emails to communicate with us. Please be kind to those laid off. They did not ask for it, nor were deserving.

It’s a corporation, and it values profit. You can’t expect Humana to value you as a person, despite its talk about “the values.” It only values any of us as long as we remain useful to its goals and direction. Once the goals and direction change, so does the value proposition you brought.

You have to value yourself. You have to look out for your own interests. See Humana for what it is—a job that gives you a paycheck. Learn as much as you can. Do your best work, not for Humana but for your own self-worth. Keep your eyes open for new opportunities. Have integrity, not because Humana values it but because you value it.

Don’t wait for Humana to value you. You value you. It’s just a place that pays money and benefits.

One way to show bb he's a pile of dung would be to have all the worker bees find other work.. aka quit. But do it sooner rather than later... that way they scramble

Why should they value you? Understand this. BB's job is to make a return on investment. They can make a profit and share that with Stockholders OR the stockholders can trade stock and gain money that way. Either way. YOU do not come into this. You are an asset only for as long as you bring value. Once that value has gone... You're gone too. How can they keep doing this? YOU encourage them by expecting returns on your 401K.
