Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Wondering what this week will entail...

Are more layoffs coming? It's hard to feel comfortable in my role and keep my mind on work because I keep thinking that more layoffs are inevitable. How much slower can it get?

And then in February I'm sure we'll hear all about our record profits again. Meanwhile, let's cut out more bonuses from the little people and add more upper management positions.

I think they are done for the year. Next round will be in January 2023 depending on how the macro situation plays out between now and then.

The company would like to see attrition. Some will come by forced layoffs, some will come by people who leave voluntarily, some will come by tinkering with performance management. It is all a game and has been played out so many times here. Capital One employees are in good company on this one, if you read the news, most companies are doing the same thing. The folks who are leaving on their own are a bonus since they will not cost the company the small severance they offer to those who are axed. It is just a numbers game and Capital One is very experienced!! Good luck to all.

I was affected by the layoffs but logged in to check my email and look for jobs today. I found an internal job posting that was added on MONDAY for a FUNDING COORDINATOR! why would capital one do this????

In specialty funding and they have restructured teams already. I have been going into work everyday since Wednesday of last week with extremely high anxiety. This is just sickening. After all of the meetings and oh y’all are doing so great, we don’t see layoffs happening. Yea right we see how slow it is. Don’t bs us and drag us along. We knew layoffs were coming but to sit in these meetings every month and continue on being lied to by upper management makes my stomach turn.

In the same boat as you. Hard to concentrate and the guilt of keeping job and others loosing theirs ways heavily on my mind.
