Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Stock as bonus instead of cash, then RIF and take back the stock

So the last 2 years, instead of receiving my regular cash bonus, the company gave most of my bonus in stock. That in and of itself was a really sh-t move on their part. But now adding insult to injury, after being RIF’d, they took back any stock that had not vested. I earned that bonus, yet now it is gone. Only complaint leadership with no morals would be doing these types of things.

OFD did this to me in 2018 and I lost around 25K in RSU and to top it off they were originally going to lay me off only to convert me to a contractor so I never got my severance. I had 21 years at OFD.

But it's not lies. They only vest part of the stocks you earned in 2022 as part of the "bonus". I asked HR and they confirmed the only RSU's they would accelerate we're the ones that would vest by 2023. The rest get forfeited. So say you got 90 stock units as part of a bonus in 2022, you would only get 30 of them. Basically screwing people out of thousands from their bonuses they earned for their work the year prior. That is absolute fact.

Why do people come here and lie. If you are let go involuntarily you receive the stock that vests in the 12mos following the RIF. You also receive a 2022 bonus all paid in cash, generous e severance and 6ms of cobra at employee rates. Stop spreading false information. Oh yea and you get outplacement assistance.

Yep. They sold this to me as a "win" (we didn't meet our numbers, so you wouldn't get your cash bonus, but our VP went to the mat for us to get this stock). When I decided to bail, I did consider sticking around for a few more months so it would vest, but the extra stress was just not worth it. Glad I got out.
