Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Paramoralisms

When your employer is laying off workers, expecting you to pick up the slack, saying, “No one forced you to take this job,” they are gaslighting you.

When another worker says the same thing to you for complaining about the situation, they are gaslighting you.

I thought the same thing when watching this movie the other night. Only difference is FB would have fired Clark once he found out he got a jar of jelly for 12 months. 😀

@xau+1jFGJ61F you sound like Frank Shirley "how'd you get a bonus, I cut out bonuses this year!". Lol, coincidence his name was also Frank? I think not.

Hopefully Cousin Eddie shows up in his dilapidated RV and teaches you a lesson accordingly.

Lol @xau+1jFGJ61F.

Spoken like a true upper management stooge. Maybe come down to the floor and do 3 or 4 peoples jobs, working holidays, taking calls all hours, missing out on family events. Then let's see if you want to still cheerlead and "get this behind us".

There are thousand who are energized and excited about all that Fiserv is ... every company will go through layoffs as the economic situation worsens --- Fiserv ahead of the curve. Example - FIS announced a charge of $500M for "restructuring" ie - pay for severance and site closures...they are several steps behind Fiserv as is Global Payments. Yes, layoffs are never welcome but let's get this behind us and prove we are the best in the industry for our clients, associates and shareholders.

You strengthen your boundaries and keep going, only accepting a normal workload....or you get out.

Most will do the latter.

Yes, they are. So how do you respond?

This method of splitting up a mass layoff into several, smaller layoffs creates a culture of fear and, for some associates, paranoid obedience. There are likely some who, as a result, just don't care anymore, who feel powerless, disengaged, and are now doing the bare minimum. Sadly, they will likely be laid off as a result.
This is a no-win situation.
