How can they choose to fire people based on age? Is not it illegal? Anything we should do before they act? I heard the same from reliable source.
This is heartbreaking as it is happening to people who trusted this management and stayed in spite of being treated unfairly, being paid below market and being victims of political and corrupt practices in this Tom’s GF world post IPO.
12/12? I could believe they'd wait a month now hoping people get fed up and quit on their own so they don't have to pay the severance. That could explain why they'd drop a layoff announcement on a Friday and then say nothing more
12/12/22 from a reliable source.
And our CEO keep posing in Albany business review as 2022 achiever? To me he is failure who hides the truth and already sinking the GF ship.
I have info from very reliable source that they will mostly target employees with 50 years and above as this will be easiest way to reach the savings they target. Higher above 50 years should be prepared as heard only remaining ones will be in executive rank or exceptions if they are leading key projects and back up is not ready to take over if they are let go.
I also heard that volunteer retirement may come letter in Q1 next year. Not so good as that gas cap of 6 weeks irrespective of years of service.
It's 90 days in ny if more than 250 at one site
Ny state requires 60 days notice or 60 days pay..
We all know Burlington, is at a near standstill as far as wafer starts.
200mm ppl u got it wrong dude .. 200mm sites in sgp is very lean …. Most probably 300 mm and the spillover of staff from EFK site who OnSemi does not want to take in
Law dictates they give 30 day notice when considering a mass layoff of a % of a company. Friday was 30 days. Do the math.
Odds are it will be managers, engineers and a handful of "bad eggs" to add in the mix.
Definitely 200 mm people.
PI too? Was told severely understaffed
I heard AME will be impacted as well.. managers, engineers, PT and MT all
Does this reliable source give a date of the layoffs or have they not decided yet ?
