Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Still no severance package

I'm so stressed out. Here it is Friday, and still no severance package. How long do they expect us to wait? The anxiety is ki----g me. I can't focus. Tried to log into EAP and got an error message several times.
My heart is pounding.
Contacted my Dr for meds to deal with this. I'm just so depressed.

I was told by HR4U rep to expect severance info 10-14 business days from the day you were laid off. She said there was a huge layoff done and they are backlogged with packages to send out

Severance package is 7 - 10 days to receive in mail per the call I was on, however the first time I went through this it was closer to 14 days.

They would not answer your questions during the call, they did read from a script to make sure a consistent message was being given across the board. In multilevel corporations, especially with telephonic support, that’s how it happens….the first outreach may be cold, but it’s necessary for the amount of people they have to address and what they’re legally able to say or do at that point in the process

My call was 5 minutes, read from a script and the entire time leader kept saying we should call in to meeting because our credentials are being cut off so…. Stressed at the situation, not fully understanding plus can’t concentrate because I’m trying to call in. No way to ask questions. No thank you for your service. COLD

Your severance will start after your 60 days of notification is done and after you’ve signed the waiver. Not before.

The reason: You’re still employed and receiving your regular salary and benefits for those 60 days. Severance starts after your employment is ends.

Just make sure you sign the agreement and return it on time. You can’t sign until one day before your last day at work. And there’s a limit on how long you have to return it. I think it’s 21 days for people under 40 and 45 days for people 40 and over.

Read your packet for info once you receive it. It does a thorough job of explaining what will happen and when.

I had to let go some on our team and HR told them 3 to 5 days for their package. Hopefully they shared on the call what you will get.

I feel your pain. This has been brutal. I will never trust another company again.
