Although it is very difficult to comfort someone who is now extremely worried about what to do next - I was once in the same situation. I was desperate. I sent a bunch of applications and managed to get a better job than I had here. Life goes on. Staying here is certainly only prolonging the agony because job security seems to no longer exist in this company. Although I still feel a lot of bitterness because I think that my layoff here was not fair, it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. I just wanted to give some support to you who are now affected. Good luck!

The business world has changed dramatically. Companies are being bought, sold and merged every day. Seniority doesn’t mean a thing in those instances and can even be viewed negatively , as stagnant. My advice after many years,,,, don’t go into a job expecting to stay past a preset timeframe. This keeps the choice to move on, Yours. You’ll have great interviewing skills and won’t be afraid of change. Every job I’ve had ,was better than the one before. I wish everyone well.
Thanks for the encouragement!!
