If you accept severance, you won’t be able to sue. That’s part of the agreement. So if you believe something that’s legally actionable has happened—discrimination based on race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, etc.—contact a lawyer before you sign. Have that person assess your chances. Good luck.

Humana will have had their legal team go over the layoffs and look for any potential exposure. It's very doubtful that any blantent illegal or discrimentatory firing happend. They are not going to risk the exposure or potential bad press.

Don’t waste your time. These layoffs are happening due to the poor results we had in growth in 2021 and the company has to reduce costs and be more productive or we won’t survive. There is nothing illegal about them and they would have very carefully reviewed data for any potential discrimination. They wiped out positions and business functions that were no longer needed or could be done differently. It’s awful but it’s not illegal or about discrimination. Your time is better spent finding your next role.

Probably, but they can bury discriminatory firing within a bigger layoff.
