Stop saying you're hoping to be laid off, or you are pi---d you weren't laid off, or any and all variations of that. There are people who were laid off who come here and have to read the insensitive comments that I doubt are even true in the majority of cases. So just do everybody a favor and stop.

I know plenty of people who have lost their jobs here and didn't want to. I feel for them. Many of them have said that it's turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to them, but that's besides the point. It's still scary and tough to take and it doesn't end well for everyone. I sympathise with these people. I'm not here to rub it in anyones face. I'm not trying to belittle or deny their bad luck and suffering. I'm not saying you were lucky to be RIF'ed.
That doesn't change the fact however that in my case (and for others it seems), being laid off would have had advantages. I'm not complaining about it but I'm allowed to be honest about my opinion. My situation is totally different and totally irrelevant to yours. So stop choosing to be offended by it. Just stop. We're not being insensitive, you're being oversensitive.
you see, even if you want to co er your eyes and ears, fact is the fact. This is the day, after midterms will see more cuts on the way outside US.

I was laid off on Aug 15th. I can tell you it’s true, happy they cut me. HR is the biggest bunch of redundant employees in the bunch. Can’t answer questions and in fact if you weren’t in IDC they never talked to you. Useless bunch that can be terminated and no impact for the company. The recruiters should all be terminated. Get rid of 2/ of management and gut Safra’s pig org. Go to Aria and look what do these people do?
Stop complaining, and go back to your HR job. Just stop!
