I have been out of Oracle for years, but had to RIF while part of the company. So if every leader in your is asked to reduce hq, you would do nothing (as an imaginary leader in this org) and get RIFed yourself? Better to comply and focus on team strategy coming out of the RIF. It sucks, but I didn't see another option.
