Oracle Cloud is Booming

From Barrons

Oracle said cloud revenue rose 45% to $3.6 billion, or 50% adjusted for currency. The company said more than 30% of revenue now comes from cloud-based software and services—and CEO Safra Catz said that the company expects continued growth to drive double-digit organic revenue and profit growth in coming quarters.

OCI Rocks! I always knew Oracle would make a comeback here. Never, ever count Larry out.

There were rumors on here about going into maintenance mode. Must have been about OCI.

OCI is so late and is something no new customer will touch. Larry denied too long, now AWS rules. Do not allow him to speak at CloudWorld if you want any credibility at all.

Yes and no. If Oracle could beat AWS in terms of service, quality and price, they could make a dent. Not overtake, but a dent. But that will not happen. EVER. Everything is done on the cheap, corners cut and prices are grotesquely inflated for inferior services. After being used and abused by LE and company for years, maybe even decades, why on earth would you come back for more if you had the chance to leave?

Being late hurt, being late and being LE hurts even worse.

They have stopped adding new features to OCI. They know something, or it’s not worth the money spent, the fortune paid to bring in resources.

So…they are breaking out the cloud revenue now? That would be news.

Can you tell me the unique value of the OCI Oracle cloud? Why would you choose it instead of AWS or GCP? Sure it has a trendy TLA, but who cares.

If this is true, why didn't they break this out in the official quarterly report? Shouldn't this be the final source of truth?
