3M Earplug Lawsuit Updates - Oct 3rd

3M spokesman Sean Ly--h: [Manager, Communications at 3M based in Saint Paul, Minnesota] 3M hopes that the "parties and their attorneys will come together to negotiate a prompt resolution to this matter, so that those veterans with eligible claims can be compensated sooner.”

Veterans agree. It is just a question of how much money 3M will pay to settle these claims.

Before and after test are in DOD medical records. Proof of hearing loss is shown through before and after combat deployments where earplugs were issued and required to wear.

You are correct. Anyone with an 8th grade education knows you cannot walk into a court of law, claim that a product caused you harm, have no evidence to back it up, and expect to be paid. Ignorant!

RE: Post ID: @1iha+1j1vZ9Js

STMT: “Yet the trial lawyers haven't been required to show before and after testing to PROVE the hearing loss.”

The above statement is FALSE.

If you read information on cases that have already been through trial, you will see dismissals whereby the plaintiff was unable, through medical documentation, to support their hearing loss claim. This poster is a troll who has repeatedly made false and misleading statements.

Negotiations will go nowhere. Not enough money in the world to pay 200000 claims, especially since you don't have to prove you have hearing loss.

3M routinely provides hearing tests for people in manufacturing. The results can be measured. Yet the trial lawyers haven't been required to show before and after testing to PROVE the hearing loss.

Sell your shares, file Chapter 11, and put the attorneys at the end of the line. Move along, nothing to see here.

Significant payments will be made to all plaintiffs for:

  • - Faulty ear plugs
  • - PFAS contamination of drinking water (millions already paid)

“Delusion” exists where anger and bitterness crowd rational thinking.

Isn't it funny how all the 3M spokespersons are now lower level managers in the organization? Where are the senior VPs and VPs that used to always be front and center? Cowards.

Negotiations are a complete joke and trials are irrelevant. Plaintiffs can get as many huge jury verdicts as they want they will never see a nickel.

My contacts are telling me Parties are WAY too far apart to ever negotiate a settlement.

3M is betting on the J&J bankruptcy strategy and plaintiffs want enough so every one of the 250 thousand 'victims' can get at least several million...which is impossible.

both delusional Parties will fight to the death, 3M will declare bankruptcy in a couple years and plain can get in line with all other claimants.

It's a shame but that's the way our tort system is set up.

Another trial looms on October 26, 2022. If you are 3M, you don’t want to try that case.
