Is anyone else turning off 5G on their Verizon devices and reverting to 4G? My son and some of his high school friends do this because they find the device works better. Not a good omen for monetized adoption of 5G. Is this just growing pains with the technology, or something more fundamentally serious with the spectrum and capability of the shorter range signals?

There once was a good Swede named Hans
Who bought spectrum with armfuls of bonds
The signal was faint, it was blocked by thick paint, and our Swede looks around and he yawns
OLD NEWS!!! We have been doing that ever since 5G couldn't handle the traffic about a year ago.....
I have two devices. One LTE, the other 5G. On the 5G device, I often have lowest possible signal or no signal. LTE devices works fantastic as it always has. Two weeks ago, somebody suggested to me to turn off the 5G on the 5G device and just go with LTE and the device now has excellent LTE signal. 5G is a load of BULLSH-T. It was from day one. They were showing these crazy videos of the things, "5G technology would very soon be delivering to all of us that would vastly enrich our lives," and NONE of the BULLSH-T was/is even close to be true. It is like they were utilizing small time science fiction videos to push their 5G propaganda of lies. Lies and propaganda continue. The kool aid isn't being consumed like it use to be. The proof are in the financial performance of the company. Where does it all start? It all starts with the lousy leadership of a guy that that ruined a European company and was given the keys to the Verizon kingdom and is now doing the very same thing to Verizon.
I wonder how many people see the great speeds of 5G in the stores (because the 5G in building system for the store), leave the store and then go WTF happened to 5G? Seems like a little bait and switch????
But wait, 5 yee was supposed to save the world?? All it's done has made our network horrible and we're losing customer after customer because of it.
I get better service on my 4g than my 5g phone. i turned my 5g off, it’s so much better now.
If they spent all those billions and even kids find the 5G service unreliable, that is a VERY serious problem when you are $150B in debt.
Agreed. It’s going to be a game changer!
5g uWB was a brilliant and strategic move.
Yup on my phone and my spouses. Try 5g once in a while but often get stuttering and last weekend actually got a few lost/reconnected messages from google maps as we travelled outside a major city which was new. 5g is faster sometimes but 4g for now always seems to work well enough and more than fast enough for anything on a phone.
I’m downloading 750mb , why would I turn it off?
Verizon 5Gee is the biggest consumer scam ever. It will be years if ever that the capitalization of the build out can be recovered. Our stock price downward spiral already reflects the impact of poor spectrum choice purchases.
Yes, this has been a thing since we launched our nationwide 5G and c band. 5G just can’t go trough walls/building at all. It’s common in stores that we advised customers to switch off 5G. This same issue is going on with our home internet. Unless your box has a direct line of sight it won’t get anywhere near 100mbs which is the lowest guaranteed speed for the 5G version. It’s a serious issue but now that everything is outsourced in our company, most of it is hard/ impossible to actually bring to anyones attention. Unless a full tower is down, it’s just pushed to the side. Very sad to see as a longtime customer and employee which actually believes/ed in this company
