Acosta

Why are we still getting pallets of books every week? Our Acosta id--t does NOTHING! We have 9 pallets of books some haven’t been touched since they came in over 2 months ago. Our book returns are crazy and we are constantly told by Acosta that they don’t have time to work/pull books. And whatever happened to “ book returns will only be done a few times a year and same with shipments” Our rep MAYBE pulls books(1 cart) once a month, the rest of the time our over worked backroom associates are pulling them. What a joke and a waste of time! GET RID of BOOKS!!

I have a pretty good Acosta rep, but agree we should get rid of books and magazines. I hate checking magazines, because one week it'll be ASN the next you have to scan each one. And god forbid you don’t match the invoice…take notes or you’ll get a chargeback from the vendor and you than have to prove you were short. That might explain why I haven’t seen an invoice in the boxes for the last few weeks. To the person that mentioned Costco still having books. They do, but not to the extent we have. To our 1000 titles, they may have 200.

We haven't had an Acosta rep in over a year.
You should see the pallets of unopened magazines in our steel.
We attempt to stock the books and the backroom lady ships back whatever RTVs she can find.
But, re stacking all of those book pallets each week looking for RTVs takes a lot of time and is physically exhausting.
Books and magazines need to go away.

Haha...all so true....but we don't even have to go to the floor to pull books....they are still on pallets in the backroom having never made it to the sales floor. What a terribly run company we are!!

You would think home office book buyers would realize that some books have zero sales cause they never make it out of the box and on to the floor . We return books in their original box .. most never are opened ! Time to get rid of them and magazines ..

Only reason we still have books is because Costco still has em. And their book areas tend to actually look organized

Same thing that was happening with the li---r reps. They didn't stock much unless they had a walk from their bosses. Don't worry about it. When they see the sales drop off. Then heads roll. Nothing ever changes.

You guys have an actual rep? We had 1 rep that came twice and quit. That's the only one we had this whole year.

The fact that this company cannot recognize what a complete waste of time, payroll and productivity that books has become is symbolic of the inept leadership that is in place. It takes man hours to check them in, stock them, audit them, pull them for RTVs, scan them out and box them to ship out. Not to mention how more man hours are required to deal with them when they arrive at the return center. Absolutely id--tic.

Books are out of control too. Pallets and pallets just sitting in the back hallway and not even being stocked. rtv’s are out of control. Hot mess - Acosta is a joke.
