Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

At 15 years, being laid off would be great

With decent severance, I wouldn't complain one bit if I was laid off. I don't know why so many people are upset or worried. At this point, any other company is better than Verizon. If you're laid off, you get paid to look for a better job. How is that not a good thing?

I'm sure everyone on your team would love to see you leave. You will be replaced with a college-age person who can actually use slack and deliver on basic tasks.

Depends on if you were lucky enough to become desirable to other companies or if you worked too much at Verizon and are 15 extra years behind the real world.

Its true. They want to encourage tenured employees to quit so they can hire cheaper and younger. Younger people don't know what it used to be like and they'll work harder for less money. It would be great if it backfired and everyone just quit on this awful company but that's asking too much

Layoffs?? Verizon has already started layoffs, by lowering commissions and the moral in the stores Verizon has made more long term employees quit then ever, but this time without a severance . Verizon WONT ever do layoffs with severance specially not in these hard times ..
