Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Dividend Guy Here

So saw a post back asking so decided to add a new thread:

Still surprised no one else noticed during off cycle pay (commission checks) that 401k deposits were delayed until the next payout. At least when people were getting commissions.

Since it was only a 7 days delay the 401k float for a individual is no big deal right?

Other than that the stock price sucks but hey the dividend yield is pretty sweet now.

Since Hans is as woke as Stephen King I’d say the price isn’t getting any better at least it’s not a Amityville Horror quite yet.

Anyway if you got out at 58 and/or 62 and get back in at 43 the more shares gives you bigger dividend payouts now huh?

Learn how the 401k plan works and if you should decide to move things just before the ex date and then back after well the income from the dividend can go right to your bank. Not financial advise.

Take that one to heart.

Sorry you are a long bag holder in VZ. You should have sold and gotten out when you saw that the woke agenda was more important than the business. Now that our customers are firing us and record rates, increasing the divi is not going to save us. Typical response from this leadership and board to try and put a bandaid over the real issues to hide their poor decisions. You should probably by some Intel and Walgreens stock also.. since you seem to love DOW losers

One more thing if a person made 65% over ten years aggregate and then loses it loses %20 value over a year but still makes roughly 5%+ dividend return which dividends from a Verizon 401k can be deposited into a regular bank account quarterly and treated like regular income as everyone should already know.

And their position increases as well at the same time is that good?

Have a great day!

Not financial advise either.

Once again see a lot of advise but it’s a weird market.

Remember when Verizon was repurchasing stock? Is it easier to repurchase at 60 or 41.

As long as the dividend stays the same or goes up it matters not what the price is unless you buy more stock and the price decreases.

I may be no warren but most likely no one on these forums are anyway.

the verizon stock is doomed! Pray this month verizon has good 5G sales otherwise that stock will go to $35 and at that point more layoffs and higher quotas for everyone.

Check with your R2B rep, he/she is not making money at all!

Verizon won't get any better and even at team meetings they will tell you if you don't like it find another job. Retail won't get layoffs ever, but the way to save money is to send more jobs to India.

At this point not even getting rid of Hans skinny pants will help Verizon, unless the new CEO is not WOKE, and rather than making millions of donations to BLM and rainbow pals and using the money for a better network, this won't change.

So long Vteamers!!!

What if Warren sold it to short his own hildings in VZ stock? Sell it all when it was back up to 50ish, plan to re-invest that same amount back in at lower cost (doubly effective because he has influence on the price going down), and then have higher volume of shares with the same investment amount, yielding a higher dividend.
I don't think that will happen... but still, what if everyone just got played by Warren?

Never ever take stock advice from Dividend Guy. He has lost more money in VZ stock than any divi will recover. There is a reason Warren sold it all and Divi guy is no Warren!

Not wrong, but with the losses our date plans have taken it'd be risky to gamble getting front ran on the exit doors.
