Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Salary disparity in Oracle

The Curse of IT industry is trustworthy and long term employees are paid lower than new comers. Oracle stand by giving 2x or 3x times different to new employees compared to incumbents.
The new employees just shadow you . Our hikes and promotions are in peril. In India few got promotions without hike. But in USA/ Eur no hikes no promotions. Hardly less to count.
Even if hike is 30% increase it’s not worth now. One of my laid off colleague is earning 60+L in India. A big move from just 17L. We also lost lots of techies from US and the pressure is just building up. The raises are not worth for pain taken.
We are fools to stay.

Go easy on the sux2bu@oracle.com comment guy. The comments are non-value added nonsense, but they are always funny.

I disagree 100%, I have seen with my own eyes offer letters and pay stubs on many occassions the past 6 years:

Regardless, sux2bu@oracle.com

Brand new IC3 with no experience in Oracle makes $88,000
Loyal IC3 who the new hire will vbe going to for help who has been here well over 12 years still making $65,000.
The company is absolutely STACKED with teams like this.
This company deserves to have 0 experienced employees with how sh---y they treat the ones who stick around.
It's a fu----g disgrace how they treat their loyal employees.

One again, the quality of life as an Oracle employee makes up for minor salary discrepancies such as those mentioned here.

Over the last few years, Oracle has paid their new hires very little. Way below industry. With all the layoffs, toxic environment, bad reputation - Oracle now has to pay a little bit more to bring newcomers on board. Hence, the pay difference. No one in their right mind will come to Oracle given all the bad press for the same ongoing rate that Oracle is paying their existing employees.
