I decided it didn't matter how bad it would look on my resume, I had to leave. Truist turned out to be the exact opposite of what I was looking for in a workplace: toxic work culture, lack of respect for employees, unrealistic workloads, bad managers, and so many other things. I'm glad I left because I don't feel like I wasted too much of my time at a place that, to me, seemed like a career ki---r.

There is absolutely no shame in leaving your job at Truist. It's a horrible place to work, and the managers, almost without exception, cr@p all over their subordinates. In fact, at this point, I'd be hesitant to hire anyone that has NOT shown the good sense to leave Truist by now! Have you no self respect, good sense, or concern for your own mental and physical well-being?
Anyone else find it painfully ironic that the intranet has that big feature on anxiety and depression? If you didn't have it before you worked here, you do now!
Retired after 30 yrs with ST/Truist…STRESS is all I can say!! I had a hard time drinking the kool aid but made it to be able to accept the voluntary retirement!! Best thing of my life!
Thank you lord for the VSRP
The good news is Truist has such a terrible reputation for workplace toxicity and low employee morale that most employers in the banking industry would look beyond a short tenure. The word is out on Truist.
I recently attended a reception and had two Wells Fargo employees at my table. They asked if the working environment at Truist was as bad as they had heard. Now, when Wells Fargo employees consider your workplace environment toxic, that is pretty much all you need to know.
I've been there, when you can't take it for one more day regardless if you were there less than 6 months, or you worked there several years. Truist is more toxic than Chernobyl ! Glad you did the right thing for your sanity!
Yes way to go! What companie wouldn't want an employee who gives up after only six months.
We've all been there so your next hiring manager should understand. We all know the damage to one's mental health to stay in a toxic work environment. Definitely not worth sticking around for - but hopefully, you have some savings to tie you over until your next job comes through.
You did the right thing. Don't give it another thought, move on with your life. Years from now your time at Truist won't even be a blip in your memory.
