I don't understand "more than not" in office rules for all associates. Some people get full remote exemptions. Some new hires don't have to go to the office. Some offices are half-a-s on on the requirements. On the other hand, Jersey offices are lock step with the return. I get they want NJ tax deals...but WTF Fiserv upper management directly told my boss that "Whatever one team or person gets in regards to RTO that same flexibility will be granted to all associates."
Yeah right...
So what is it just tracking badge swipes? I don't think they are actually tracking if you are in 3 days vs 2 days each week (that would be way to many talented folks to cut). I think if you don't show up 10 days to the office your badge gets frozen and you have to request it be unfrozen. Those who continually get it frozen or leave it frozen for a long time will be the ones that HR/Badge team goes after. That or your middle manager is stickler and micromanages you... because most of them don't care.
Some people are on teams that are spread across the country. Between the RTO rules, various time schedules people can work, time zones issues, people being in other offices, people having errands to do, and people leaving after half the day.. It's basically pointless to go to the office and waste time/resources. Sell the damn buildings or rent them out.
Let's not even get started on the fact that myself and many others are training new hires below us (not reports) that get better pay. Inflation pay is real for new hires and the ones here who do the actual work don't get to see that inflation raise.
Don't get me wrong, Fiserv is a good place to start a career and gain experience in niche skill sets. I never really even saw any of the OFS/OFD drama within my teams. What I am seeing workers getting demotivated. Talented folks sinking down to the bare minimum expectations of their worst performing peers. Coworkers and other teams constantly pushing back or playing hot potato with request/work. I'm seeing people who worked well in office before the pandemic.. THEN GREAT during the pandemic become demotivated. He-l they sent out that stupid "burnt out at work seminar" their little tracking software must be picking up on something.
I don't have the problem of OFD screwing me or my teams. For me I can think a handful of things contributed to this behavior in me and my coworkers.
Pandemic opened up our eyes that we can work more effectively, efficiently, and resourcefully at home. We were praised for our work. Now we are being forced back in. Why not give the bare minimum now?
Vaccine mandate was totally uncalled-for. I'm vaxxed, I think the pros of the vax outweighed the cons for me and my family. I know others who don't agree, that's their business. Now, I'm not 100% flat against the mandate... I'm mostly against how they handled it. Forcing a strong hand and scaring many valuable Fiserv vets. Then saying oh you rule-breaker unvaxxed stay home while we force everybody else in the office. Almost feels like I should've been unvaxxed! And then they just drop it all together... what about the ppl who only got vaxxed because Fiserv said so... LOL. I get it was a Biden/Politics thing, but that entire situation made be feel like Fiserv has too much control over associates lifes and they use it wi--y nilly. Why not give the bare minimum?
Lastly, new hires, with less experience, are making more money that current employees that are being required to train them. I'd say new hires are at least making 10-30% more than current employees in the same role. Why not give the bare minimum?

The wishy washyness makes me want out. I want a better company and I want that inflation pay raise. I want better benefits and better teams. I am looking for better and am waiting for the right fit. I hope all of you find where you're supposed to be.
