Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Home for the holidays is almost here!

So, it's that time of year again. After a unbelievably terrible 2nd quarter and what is sure to be an equally bad 3rd quarter. I'm sure this year's annual "home for the holidays" layoff event will be particularly big. What departments are on the chopping blocks this year? What have you heard?

We need better people. You have one to two people on each team doing the majority of the work. You could lose another 20% but you better start hiring quality people because it’s all a matter of time before people leave and take all that industry knowledge with them.

VBG seems to have an huge budget and are throwing money at customers and employees for business. They are also fat on headcount and continuing to hire. Their growth can’t be that much with all the fraud and consumer to Biz AOLs. It only makes sense they would be first to go. But nothing makes any sense these days. You got id--ts running this company now.

We can only hope so. This company has turned to trash. So many are embarrassed to admit they work for Verizon. Wad never like that until Hans took over. Weak.

Ops is already a redundant role, and does not generate any revenue. It is time for it to go.

My guess is all the remaining retail Opperations people. We are already seeing more ops related training and consolidation in reports. The current ops people I’ve heard from are already preparing. This will just be more responsibilities given to stores to handle without additional pay.
