Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle should invest in its employees

Instead of treating employees like trash and alienating most of the workforce, Oracle should invest in employee satisfaction and happiness. It has been proven again and again that a happy employee is more productive, more engaged, more loyal and cares about the company's results more. How is that not seen as something that should be strived for is beyond me.

Employee's are their least important asset though, why would they give 2 sh--s about satisfaction?
Seriously a pile of dog sh-t on the Lanai lawn potentually getting on Larry's shoe has more consequences to them than employees leaving.

"Surveys are supposed to be anonymous. However, I have seen managers brag about reaching out to HR to identify who said what in the survey."

Yeah, can confirm. Our group was small and niche, within the Service Org.
But dang, if our Director wasn't answering my survey questions in staff calls.

But why fill out the surveys, Management just ignores the feedback and does the opposite.

Oracle investing in its employees? That has never happened and never will. Who could possibly expect otherwise from a company that will RIF anyone at the drop of a hat?

Oracle is no different from ruthless US employers like IBM, HP, WeWork and many others.

Surveys are supposed to be anonymous. However, I have seen managers brag about reaching out to HR to identify who said what in the survey. Let’s see how many will submit the next survey due to the trust violation.

That's funny you say this. HCM ran a campaign earlier this year focusing on Employee Experience. In it, they promoted the idea that HR organizations should use technology to foster communication, gather feedback, create career journeys, and build bonds between the workforce.

Ironically, it seems to be that none of these things happen at Oracle itself, especially transparency from the top.

The entire time I was with Oracle. I never filled out a survey. My Manager was such a spiteful bi--h, I knew there was no way it wouldn't come back to me and I would have to listen to her berate me about it.

There are a lot of "shoulds" that Oracle leadership ought to do. But the only thing they do consistently is keep their heads up their own a$$holes. Fugging clowns.

You are correct and should find a job with a successful company where you can grow with a progressive company that values themselves by valuing employees with a proactive business model using positive leadership carefully selecting the best of the for management positive which sounds like might be a good fit.
Oracle is operating in a decades old Mgmt style that was proven by many long ago to fail. It is unfortunate. But negativity at Oracle is like cancerous tumor that has grown out of control ki----g everything within.
Oracle is beyond help. It’s their choice to self destructing from within and sadly there’s nothing that can be done
While you there, journal your experiences so that you contribute to many that will be writing The Fall of Oracle and let what you see help others with what not to do.

Don’t you attend the meetings and view the survey results? Everybody is happy. Ha
