Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Telesales needs to unionize. It’s time

The bad business practices are out of control. Sending sales calls to care and telesales gets care calls. It’s absolutely insane. Forcing us to open every account when someone is upset and just wants customer care. Holding RIS scores over our beards and giving us a bad schedule if we get bad scores when surveys are out of our control. We need representation asap

In 2018 the Trump Administration signed off on a new Tax bill until 2025 that eliminated tax breaks for remote work for the employee who was not an independent contractor, almost as if they were foreshadowing what was coming. Since we are subsidizing the company from our homes, then we should be compensated for it. I don’t want to hear I’m saving in commutes, I didn’t mind it, since we’ve been home my income has gone down, my output is up and so are my home expenses.

Union wouldn't cut my pay by $27000 in a year!! I'm sure I'd get more than a 1 percent raise for performing as I did this year and more than my 2 percent last year for leading. People are turning to the union because it seems the only way to get upper management to take us seriously.

That's why we need a union.
To keep us employed beyond our usefulness.

Unions protect - from abusive management, work life balance, pay, from extra job duties, etc.

“Unions Destroy - Output, advancement, individual achievement, competitiveness, etc.”

You must be in corporate. Because this is exactly what corporate is doing to the front line.

I concur about team commission not being as effective as individual commission. Leadership claimed there would be less slamming in a team environment. Ha! Slamming has come back in full force with esims and business one talk. These are like the new Elipsis Tablets of yesteryear. Managers are on the craze to make numbers look good....like always. The only problem is you can’t train a clerk to be a salesperson if they aren’t being directly compensated. Nobody cares. The numbers tell the story. Unions make sense if they can lock in a pay structure. All of retail and telesales should be on board sometime next year. Stay tuned.

Yes if we are going to get Fios calls and try to sell them wireless and Fios but can’t quote what is In their area and then submit a referral that may not even be worked because they are union, we should be too. Don’t understand why those Rude Peter Griffin sounding people have more job security when Fios in general runs is failing as a whole.

@veq+1iiKGy13 Problem is team commission doesn’t work well because employee productivity remains at an all time low compared to precovid and sales have dipped dramatically. Headcount on average is down about 20% even though It seems we can always use more help. Leadership counters by saying traffic is down.

It used to be a great job pre pandemic. The call volume hasn’t justified the headcount for a while instead of PIP’ing people out for performance when the calls are just not there, they should do the right thing and offer a severance.

You have to be joking, paid to take a few orders and you are way overstaffed. Best of luck.

I just joined Verizon to find people I can play video games with and I dont understand why everyone is so angry? It's your fault you have a family to support. If your parents loved you they would let you live rent free like mine do. Money is a tool to control you. Han is setting you free.

They aren't customer service reps -they identify as teleservice people (POTS) or people of tele-service. Their pronouns are umm/duh.

But we saved $1M by combining all of these groups and I got my bonus by screwing all of you over, so win-win.

Dude with the turnover inside sales isn't unionizing. Sending sales calls to care is good business since care makes less and has no commission. Oh well. Id--ts.
