Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

RT "Today is one of those days"

RT posted this on Linkedin earlier today... anyone knows what is he referring to?

"There are some days that I am in complete awe of my team for their incredible resilience and focus in spite of many obstacles. Well today is one of those days!! Having the courage to push to achieve your goals, even when they are hard, while never forgetting to treat people with respect, dignity and kindness along the way is the true mark of servant leadership. There are so many of my leaders who have exhibited these traits and I couldn't be more proud to work for you as your manager."

All the leadership of an amoeba, flowing in any direction

Totally tone deaf by RT. Not sure what he has seen but those in the trenches have seen or heard nothing from his management. Other than don’t forget to do your compliance training. Seriously those laid off should comment on his post to remind him that it is his leadership that got them the RIF, it is his managers that signed off on those RIFs and his management team that now don’t know how to manage the situation. Not one leader in the bunch of them!

“ I recall being in an office with people from some of the data cloud acquisitions. They were so naive, they genuinely thought Oracle considered them to be special.”

It’s part of the Deal to ensure talent doesn’t bail. But the smart ones figure out and bail as soon as possible.

I was once a servant leader at Oracle with a happy high performing team. We were all axed.

I had management like that as well. Loved working for the guy, and his manager as well and would do so again in a heartbeat. The entire org from top to bottom was chopped. To say that the Acting VP was a petty vindictive harpy is an understatement. wanted that "official" VP title in the worst way. Happy to know though, she never got it.

Great so there’s the closest thing to acknowledging layoffs we will receive. What a joke.

And yeah Oracle’s pipeline and customer base totally not affected by the lack of news and response

Treating people with respect, dignity, and kindness will not be tolerated at Oracle. That manager will not last long. I was once a servant leader at Oracle with a happy high performing team. We were all axed.
