Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Bring your own laptop

How is it going being on call and having to use your personal phone? Did they ever work out the on call pay for First Data employees? How about internet reimbursement, still gone? Remember they got rid of phones for you not for Fiserv. Ok Britt.

Wait this is First Data I forgot, being on call probably means you have to sit in or drive into the office.

How is the bring your own laptop going? Pretty soon no monitors, keyboards or mice. You pay for it. It is just a matter of time. Remember it is better for you, you get to pick out and pay for whatever you want. You are not stuck with some cheap laptop Fiserv provides. You should consider yourself lucky to have a job and it is a privilege to pay for your own laptop.

The poor manager who has someone on call with only a desktop, fired!

Service desk can assist with BIOS and video driver??? Here we have somebody who knows zilch about sophisticated computer issues. These two "solutions" do not do anything to improve performance or software, driver conflicts, bad Microsoft update patches. One Outlook patch shattered the thing on a global basis. Ever rebuild a Windows server? I have done that, and restored client data, in 3 hours. Got rid of Ransomware for a museum client in 2. Service desk is in India by the way, guarantee they know nothing. I have dealt with this issue many times - WiPro, Tata, et al. Magic solution is always "reboot" (and that can work once in a while). Please ride the rocket to NJ

I find the service help desk less than helpful. We are on our own.

Fiserv will not need to buy a monitor, keyboard, or mouse for a very long time.

As long as they keep the mountain left over from all the employees who left.

Fiserv does not allow us to use fiserv laptops for personal use and bans downloading of non fiserv apps. So why the he ll should I use my iphone for business use? I do not, will not allow fiserv cr-p on my iphone. Obviously fiserv does not give us the tools to do our jobs.

On call with personal phone is fine. When I go to sleep, I set my iPhone to “do not disturb” then I say the number servicenow calls from is allowed though.

My laptop runs great too. Chat the service disk and ask them to update your bios and video driver.

These “laptops” are laughable as workable tools. I only wish i could use my more powerful laptop. The equipment here is junk.
