Didn't the solaris team have a huge layoff at one point some time back?

Didn't the solaris team have a huge layoff at one point some time back? They had seemed untouchable up until that point. Also remember that because hardware $ shrinks steadily every year the headcount in that business unit shrinks accordingly. So you are looking at RIFs of about 10% every year, minimum.

Doing what?! Working on Slowaris?? If so, total dead end/nightmare.

Well it sure ain't working on OL. Red hat already does that. Unless you count ripping out the brand specific things and putting in O's

Probably Service processors or firmware.

I wouldn't take it. Right now, O couldn't sell ice to Bedouins.

Joining would be like willfully hopping onto the Titanic after you are already aware that it has hit an iceburg and is taking on water.

Don't do it.

Yes though not sure exactly when. Year over year revenue decline continued in Q4 at the same rate it has been declining since the acquisition. Word is that Q1 revenue is worse than the usual (-10%) declines we have seen since the acquisition. Expectation is that the RIF will track decreased upside in the overall BU, 10 to 20%.
