Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

What discourages you the most?

Employee morale is very bad. Managers do not bother to do anything about it.
I somehow overcame the company's inability to offer me much in terms of a promotion and development, but the insecurity of my job here discourages me the most.
Generally speaking, Fiserv is excellent at discouraging and demotivating employees.

Not much can be done if staffing is guaranteed only 3 months at a time with incessant layoffs

The hard part is setting aside all your free time to actually do the job search.
Hard not so much. Time-consuming most definitely. But time well spent to leave the scrap pile behind.

We are now Micromanaged to the point of spending more time documenting everything than doing real work. I guess that was the first data way to carry over to fiserv. Demoralized and stressed to the point of burn out. I no longer care, this is what the stuffed suits want - garbage in garbage out.

Terrific response for scrap heap - OK, 44,000 probable by your count, 35,999 internal count. Nobody I keep in touch with likes the place and all lament what it once WAS and now became due to FB and the merger. Nobody. Save the ride the rocket shill here. Thing is to judge your personal commitment - take money and leave save any intelligent learning for career. My whole department is gone, through group networking - not one fired and all doing better.

I agree with the comment that clients should contact Frank directly. The service level for our client base as embarrassing! Clients are leaving, employees are leaving (whether through a RIF or to jump from the sinking ship). My two cents is if you are a new’ish employee, cut your losses and get out. If you’re a long-term employee, try and stick with it until you are riffed and get a severance package. Client Sales and Client Managers should encourage their discouraged customers to contact Frank.

The company doesn't have any business strategy at all. There is a lot of wasted potential.

But, when you care as much as senior leadership does, then you don't actually care at all. That is the best part about being back in the office. When I am talking to a coworker, I am wasting twice the amount of the company's time.

If our clients would speak all the way to the top about our service issues and talk to Frank like they do us each day then that might make a small difference… but then again I doubt it. They are so disconnected…

The easy thing to say is to just find a new job. The hard part is setting aside all your free time to actually do the job search. There's nothing to improve on here at Fiserv, the problem comes from the top down and nobody can make a difference. Take care of your mental health and move on, no need to be demotivated over this scrap heap.
