Anyone manage to get them included in their severance or did you lose them?

That exact situation is why I don't like RSUs, and never have. It's a carrot dangling on a stick; they'll suddenly yank the carrot away and beat you with the stick, and then they can keep the carrot for themselves.
It's obvious why they're doing it, and saying otherwise means you're deluded or an executive.
instead of paying bonuses and reviews in cash they mass distributed RSUs to employees which will never be able to cash them out once layed off… genius!

No guarantee that they ever will include them, but definitely speak with an employment/labor attorney before signing your severance.
You will only get them included if they would have vested in the immediate future. Friends who were eligible for sabbatical or worse, had already planned it, were given future end dates.
I'm not sure what the dividing line is, but I think under 60 days it would be a strong argument that you would have stuck around to receive it. Talk to a lawyer.
