My experience throughout the years tells me that we have just scratch the surface in terms of layoffs. When layoffs happen at Oracle they tend to go on for a longer period of time in larger and smaller waves. I believe that a lot of the employees are aware of that fact and have already hit the job market. With that said I believe that we will be seeing a higher rate of attrition through the organization. Could such a high level of attrition change the company’s layoffs plans and to what degree?

From a shareholder perspective, attrition is not their problem - they don’t care. Layoffs, on the other hand give the sense that the organization is taking direct action to cut expenses. Shareholders love it!
I would tend to agree, Already some long tenured folks saw the writing on the wall and moved on. Some others with 15 plus years are also looking now from what I have heard.
