Eric Stratton would be a good choice too. You can't spend your whole life worrying about Hans mistakes. You messed up. You trusted Hans.

Stratton's town hall meetings were very entertaining.

Stratton made $48 million last year. He doesn't need this stress. And he doesn't have a college degree, I believe. That won't fly with the board.

What is their to groom, as to the name mentioned as the possible next CEO, from within the rank and file? Does she have it or not? And how soon is she readied?

They can keep Sampath - NO THANKS! Just more of the same problems that exist now. & Unions are a thing of the past. They were once necessary & quite valuable before labor laws. The only thing unions are good for in the 21st Century are collecting their own dues. People don't need a go-between wedged between their boss and themselves. Unions cannot stop the inevitable from headcount reductions as have dramatically increased under current leadership. It is like the good ship Verizon is being steered by a bunch of chimpanzees.

Our next Ceo will be sampath. They’ve been grooming for a few years and he will do great. No more outsiders and no more Europeans who do understand the US marketplace.

RE: Verizon's next CEO, thus what is the requirements/restrictions, in terms of age?? As posted , there is an age when a Verizon's CEO, has mandatory retirement? What is Stratton's age?? What are, if any, Stratton's current conflicts of interest??

No, the CEO of Verizon should be John Stratton and everyone that has ever had the pleasure of serving under his strong, results driven leadership knows it. Mr. Stratton knows how to balance the art of leading people through inspiration, development, and accomplishment which leads to strong business results and happier employees. The Verizon board screwed itself large when they permitted McAdam to hire Hans and stabbed Mr. Stratton in the process.

Plausible to search for a CEO with a strong PE, private equity, background. Most probably these candidates, even though young but do have a vision to the current needs judicious for survival, obfuscate labor, rebranding, and consumer centric. However, these potential PE candidate could not navigate through the current state of affairs, lack of experience, to the debacle of a forthcoming, federal reserve induced, recession. But, nor can then current CEO who cannot navigate the state of the US consumer due to the current CEO being an European experienced focus.

His age will work against him. If I am not mistaken VZ had a mandatory retirement age of 65 for their CEO's. That's why Ivan stepped down when he did.

Michel Combes (born 29 March 1962) is a French businessman and current Chief Executive Officer of SoftBank Group International ("SBGI"). Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer at Sprint, and has held CEO roles at Vodafone Europe, Alcatel-Lucent and Altice.
Career
After holding several positions at ministries, France Télécom and TDF, Combes served as CEO of Vodafone Europe from 2008 to 2012.

On 22 February 2013 the Alcatel-Lucent board of directors appointed Combes as the company's CEO, succeeding Ben Verwaayen (effective April 1). On 19 June 2013 Combes announced plans to focus Alcatel-Lucent's operations on networking products and high-speed broadband in order to cut costs by 1 billion euros by 2015. He left Alcatel-Lucent in September 2015, after Nokia announced its intention to buy the company but before the merger was complete, to join Altice as COO. He became Altice's CEO in 2016, and resigned in November 2017.

Combes was appointed as the CFO of Sprint in January 2018, and CEO in May of the same year. His tenure ceased when Sprint merged with T-Mobile US in April 2020.

Following Sprint, Combes joined SoftBank Group International as President in April 2020 and was appointed to his current position of CEO on 28 January 2022, where he oversees SBGI’s operating and investment portfolios, including the SoftBank LatAm Funds.[1] He serves on several boards of directors of SoftBank portfolio companies, including WeWork, Cybereason, Contentsquare, Jellysmack, Kavak, OneWeb, Sorare, Swile, TelevisaUnivision and Vestiaire Collective.
