Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

My thoughts on Mission 1

It's no surprise that High Selling Territories are becoming the norm, but I don't feel like there is going to be a mass lay off of reps. HST seem to only work in major cities with multiple Walmart, Kroger and Publix locations. When you have these rural territories that only consist of 2 stores per 20 mile radius, it just can't work for everyone. I feel that out of a team of around 12-13 reps, 3 HST will occur. There is no way they can break these rural territories up and have 1 rep cover 10 counties or more. I believe it's all going to be depend on where you are located at. Some teams are going to be heavy on HST and other teams will have 1 maybe 2 HST. Just my thoughts.

Curious. For the SR that stayed with Mondelez, how did your pay change? Our territory will be starting the Mission 1 starting April 1. What are your thoughts overall on the change?

They rolled out mission one in NY this month and got rid of 9 sales reps out of 13 and the ones they kept was given 3 times more HST and open up the order writer positions there are not good enough merchandisers or order writers to do this job there is definitely end for the sales rep position in future good luck !

Dont think it will be as long as 2026

This will be hard to say.
Mondelez has and continues to build warehouses throughout the US, this is to accommodate cross dock shipping in the future.
As Mondelez continues to gather sales data the Sales representative position will be eliminated!
Look for 2026
The fact is shareholder rule!

SR positions are being eliminated. Balt/Wash is round 1 of Mission One plan.

If you are ‘displaced’ your DM will try to get you to apply for the SA position. Salary grade 3, but you keep your car.

Don’t do it! They have already decided who will get the SA position based on geography.

If you apply and do not get it you will have forfeited any severance that was initially offered.

You will be offered the opportunity to purchase your company car if displaced.

Displaced SRs are decided based on geography, end of year ratings and tenure. In that order.

Don’t trust anyone telling you otherwise. It has all been decided.

Last post is contrary to most. Most are saying that severance us offered to those being displaced

From what I've gathered is that the 1/3 of the reps are being eliminated.
Our team has 9 reps and we're combining with another team that has 9 reps so our new super team will have 12 reps.
I've been told no severance is being offered. Full-time order writer position is being offered to the displaced sales reps.
Good luck everyone

DMs are being fired because less reps means less DMs.

I’ve heard Mission one is going live January 1st next year which is why the call is coming now.

I agree the timing is odd. I heard next year, but why announce it now? Unless they want to roll it out ASAP.

Would you all prefer that mondelez goes the way of Keebler and we all lose our jobs ? I'm a Rep and I get what they're doing . Change is inevitable . Be thankful this is the change we're getting as.opposed to the alternative

Exactly! I'm great at selling, the problem is the merchandisers never build the displays I sell in, or build them half a-s, so what's the point?

If this company thinks they can get rid of reps, and have just the merchandisers running the program, you're all in for a big surprise of WHO is REALLY holding this company together.

Without good reps, the whole thing will fall.

Sad to see people trying to convince themselves their jobs are safe....wrong. Get ready for a lot of change, its coming and will effect everyone.

But you’re missing that these rural stores will taken care of by order writers. A rep that only sells will absolutely be able to cover a large geography

These HST will fail. I currently have one and depending on your merchandisers to write half my orders sucks so far. I only go into my accounts once week at most of them. Quality of service will not be there. I honestly think the rep position will be gone next and it will only be full time order writers.
