Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Mandatory return to office

What happened to this? Is this still coming? Can anyone share plans they’ve heard?

When they did the Systems division layoff a few years ago, they did it via email and conference call. They fedex the paperwork to your house and tell you to leave your laptop and badge at the door when you leave.

If you get RIFd in person, it's done to a very strict script. Managers get training for it. HR are there to protect the company's interests - not yours.

All I know is that senile ole LE joined that last annual update call a while back like some sicko from his weird AF bedroom. Surprised he didn't have on some turtle neck jammies. What a clown.

So it seems like there won't be much pressure from the top to go back to the office any time soon.

This post from HR makes me wonder,

No need to wonder. HR people s**k, from top to bottom. When you have zero skills in anything else, you get into HR. they are not there for you, they are there to protect the company from lawsuits. I have more stories of malfeasance at the HR department (not Oracle) than all the other departments I have been exposed to combined.

They are the stasi for each company.

My location is virtually vacant. When we’re forced to go in our team is one two total in office

"quit your job its as easy as that."

This post from HR makes me wonder, what would happen if one day all the HR staff quit. It would be like police resigning, or the national guard refusing to use violence to beat up on protesters.

If HR all quit there would be no one left to lay us off. No one to deny our raise. No one to block our promotion. It would be as easy as that.

The Great Resignation has mitigated the chances of a forced return. A downturn in the economy, however, might put the ball back into their corner. If you don’t want to go back, get out now.
