I'm somewhat happy to be laid off. The company certainly lost its direction a long time ago. As far as I can see, Oracle thinks that too many managers and a lowest talent cost is a sustainable strategy in the long run. Isn't that the worst possible strategy for this company?

No, your strategy to stay at Oracle until ultimately, you got RIF'ed, was even worse.
