Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Why do you think layoffs will be more widespread?

We are terribly understaffed, people are leaving and I hope that the layoffs will not be as widespread as some here expect.

@afi+1ia6tXDo — Exactly! If I read one more time from BB some nonsense about: “Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was enjoyable. Janine and I…” — I’m going to scream! The Associate Communications emails are so tone-deaf and insensitive. While BB and Janine are enjoying their pearls, and diamonds, and luxuries, people are panicking because they were just informed about their RIF, and they have bills and families to support.

@1pei+1ia6tXDo More Progressive?

  1. a person advocating or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas.

I think not. They are more oppressive, they use new tools and mindsets to oppress the worker. By giving you apparently MORE options they actually reduce your ability to impact. Try complaining to HR and they will throw it right back at you. Did you follow the policy, speak to your leader or some other ineffective route.

The biggest issue with these senior leaders getting a boot is that they have a beautiful golden parachute to help them out of the plane where as the peons have to try and land on our feet. Just a small difference... No biggie. 👎

HR does nothing! They write back and say, “talk to your leader.”. Well, if you have gotten no where with your leader or your leader is the problem, then you are just screwed. I agree with the below poster. HR is not there for you, but for them..

Below poster, I get your angry, but that’s the nature of business with higher ups and line workers…and not everyone has had your experience. I agree with the HR issues, but Humana is a bit more progressive than many other companies out there

You can bet the list of 'senior' leaders getting laid off are getting a good deal as they 'seek other opportunities'. You know what you're going to get? Humana spill this bile weekly about how much they appreciate you and work for engagement. The reality is very different. All of this nonsense about engagement is a big lie to silence you. If they preach Inclusion and Diversity at every turn it makes it difficult to call them out. If they preach wellness and engagement it becomes difficult to challenge their big budget and lies. I hear everyday that someone should go to HR. HR is there to protect THEM from you. The policies they right! They can be changed or ignored in most states, especially at will states.

If you can get out do so. tell everyone you know how bad Humana is as an employer. Let them know about the workload and the constant threat of your livelihood. At some point this 'woke' society will get around to protesting for worker rights. Until then, suck it up.

Humana is agnostic when it comes to RIFs. So yes, more will likely happen and at all levels. Those of us at the bottom just don’t know where yet. Hang on to your hats.

That is one of the biggest issues with Humana: some important departments are understaffed and super busy, while other non-essential departments have too many people without doing any valuable work. What can we expect? Our CEO is enjoying work-life balance on a beautiful island. I bet no other top companies CEOs can do that.
