Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Do you manage to stay focused on work?

Every day it's more and more difficult for me to find the motivation to work since I can't stop worrying about whether I'll be cut or not.
I love my job and I have always tried to do it as professionally as possible, but I think that Humana no longer deserves such an approach to work from its employees.

I'm struggling too. The near constant threat of lay-offs is really tearing me down and this has been going on since 2016 or so. It's old.

I and everyone I know is working hard to stay focused and do the job we're paid to do but it is incredibly difficult.

I love working for Humana and even though I haven't been there nearly as long as many others I really do not want to leave.

It's sad.

I wonder if part of the cost cutting included removing corporate jet use for private travel from the executive compensation package?

Has every option OTHER than laying people off from an extremely lucrative company been exhausted?

Metrics do not reflect the quality or diligence of work we do, much less those time consuming members who have extra or complicated needs. If engagement and new enrollment are the metrics they want to track, that's fine however they need to fix how these numbers are calculated so that those that are not interested, not wanting calls, or do not answer, do not count against us. If you pull too much new work, it impacts your engagement rate. too little, impact. to top that off it's getting harder and harder to get people to answer their phones. Most screen calls or mailboxes are full. Many are skeptical of receiving calls because of the scammers out there. Our own work procedures for making calls set us up for failure.

Sadly, yes, metrics are part of the measure

Metrics are not reliable or a true indicator of actual work

I’m struggling too. And it doesn’t help that Verint tracks your computer movement and monitors how productive you are. So even though I’m overwhelmed and anxious about possibly having my entire department eliminated, I still feel like I can’t slack off in the slightest because my productivity is constantly being monitored. Speaking of productivity, are your metrics being micro-managed and strictly enforced in your departments? My manager is starting to have weekly meetings discussing our metrics, and it’s really annoying. I wonder if the metrics will be the deciding factor on who stays and who goes.
