It was internally announced that the RIF in EMEA has now started. They have just informed 48 employees in Germany that they are "at risk". Majority of those jobs are in Marketing. It seems that Oracle is completely revamping it's marketing strategy which means heavy downsizing and cost saving (probably to fund this ridiculously overpriced Cerner acquisition). The "hostile" Netsuite takeover continues...
Now the workers council (thank god!) is starting to negotiate with the management and HR about details. Over 1000 further jobs are at risk across the other EMEA countries.
Without a proper marketing strategy Oracle will have no chance against the competition who all understand this industry is a marketing driven one.
