Sales numbers fall when everyone does everything online! Only 50+ aged people go into a store to ask ridic questions and foolishly get slammed

That is partially true however Verizon doesn’t care. The new normal is here to stay and the numbers will catch back up eventually. They factored in a short term loss changing the comp structure. Also don’t forget how Covid buried much of the results anyway. Retail stores are turning exclusively into set-up stores with the ability to upsell and slam. Verizon doesn’t create a culture of being a better salesperson anymore. Furthermore why would anyone stay in retail if you are great in sales ? You can be making so much more money with an individual commissioned based job. I just have to chuckle when I see former 4K check people finally surrendering and taking an SM job to make more money. They never had any intentions of becoming a manager. Kool Aide drinking at its finest. Sell outs !

One has almost nothing to do with the other. The fact this is continually argued has a direct correlation with people spending over a decade in an entry-level job.
