Want to know why Verizon Stock is in the tank.. gutter...? Well our director ask everyone to put their preferred pronoun in their email signature. I spoke up and said, I don't have a preferred pronoun. I wish to be called "Monsieur Smith" as I am French. My director said, no, that is not a pronoun. So I went to HR and the issue was resolved as the director was told it's not within their authority to demand this. Now if my director would focus on the network, growing the customer base instead of pronouns I think the stock price would move in a more positive direction.

I think the person was referring to mangers and directors asking people to put it in your signature.. Because it coming from a director or a manger it's not really a choice is it... just say'n. Now if you just wake on one day and add it all on your own with no one prompting you to do so you have a point. But that is not what this thread is about!

No one is trlling you what to call gourself. If they do you should complain to get thet fixed.
They are asking you what you would like to be called and more than that ask that you let someone request what they themselves be called.
If someone asked to be called nick or bob would you say I need to see your birth certificate and will only say that? They are a person with their own beliefs call them what they want whether it is Bill or George or Frank and even Sue.
My colleague answers emails with 1 or 2 word responses but has a 10 line signature including the all important pronoun, some political statements , fax number, line asking me to consider the environment before printing this (useless) email. So yeah this place is full of d0pes.

Maybe because I was hired to do a job, I do it with extremely well as a professional. I worked hard to get my masters degree and I paid back every penny in my loans. I am a traditional man with traditional values and have been married for 26 years now with 3 children. I don't need to be told what to be called. I don't need to be told what I am to be called. I know what my name is, I know how I am to be addressed and for some schmuck to come along and tell me to add something to my title is rude and highly inappropriate. If it were me I would have gone to HR too. No one has the right to tell you what you will be called, that is up to you as a person to decided!
Frankly, I have 3 more years and I am out of here! This woke stuff is ki----g this company and the stock price is proof of this. We are a telecom, not a woke factory!
Im going to have to instead go with the unprofessional and inconsiderate people who work here are the problem. Don’t like pronouns fine but don’t be an id--t be that mature adult y’all proclaim to be and discuss it with your director in private that you don’t want to do that and if it doesn’t work go to HR.
Do I introduce myself by pronouns? No. When it comes up do I mock people who are given confort by using them? Also no.
