It is totally unclear to me how Oracle decides who will be cut. What is the criterion? It seems that there are no rules because I know some excellent employees who got cut, but also some who really did not add any value. What interests me even more is whether and how much influence the manager has on the decision about who will be terminated. Some say that the manager doesn't make those decisions, but I don't think that's entirely true.

I got laid off last Monday and my manager was told 30 min prior to having to tell me. He had no say in the decision. I would not have been selected had he been asked.
If you’re in ACX, LE’s got a severance check for you just in time for the holidays.
The current “transition” is really a phased shutdown. Unity’s DOA, and now with no resources, and every other product is end of life.
Start taking less meetings and start networking… you’re already toast.
How do they decide? The check to see who has Layoff.com on their laptop.
Kiss $ss. Be Safe.
New logo for O.
Are you talking about the Sales org, orrrr? Sales seems to be an entirely different ballgame...there are cuts being done all over Oracle now.
The pattern is if you kiss a$$, then you are safe.
I hope I make the cut.
Most companies use a combination of finance, revenge, enee meenie miney moe, astrological signs and a calculator.
In other words, there is no rhyme or reason. Don’t try to figure it out.
The criteria does not have to be approved by you. It is, quiet frankly, none of your business.
There is no criteria. Decisions get made by EVPs on manager recommendations on what/who they can cut. All ‘nice to have’ divisions are eliminated.
If you are not selling it or building it, you mean nothing to Oracle.
If you’re still here post December and you’re not in Health, OCI or ERP, I’d brush up the resume and start praying. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.
Deadwood is easy to spot and easy to prune.
Based on the pattern in CX it is very clear they chose to layoff every one they could in US and then selected some bottom performers in IDC. So be afraid if you are based in US and coincidentally they are some of the best people O has.
