Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Why are many disappointed when they finally get promoted?

The thing is that Allstate looks for 2 thing, people to either get promoted to get more money and stay or for people to take that small raise each year and not leave. The ones that don't like what is going on leave, and that is why I gave my notice.
The way Allstate is they will never give you a decent raise when promoted which is what I found out. I was promoted and they hired an external into the same role with me who I found out is making quite a bit more than me, when I asked my manager he said it is because the other person was an external and they are under different rules, so a person with less experience and less time with the company gets more money than I do.

Unfortunately, this does not seem to be a unique experience.

This is accurate on many levels and is the reason our talent continues to jump ship. I know of 6 managers currently applying elsewhere for the same reasons. I’m sure there are many more!
