Thread regarding Ford layoffs

This is the result of globalization

The auto industry would not be having to resize if we hadn't outsourced all the parts and jobs.
What we should all be fighting and voting for is nationalism and insourcing all manufacturing.
The USD cannot maintain valu with a service economy this great experiment is comming to an end and going ev is part of this. Comments, concerns, questions??? It all started with textiles and electronics.

Last poster nailed it. But only that, they can track you (every time you plug into a charger), and when another pandemic hits they can just turn off your charging and keep you home.

EVs are part of the New World Order. Do yourself a favor. When your buy a new car find the the TCU (cellular modem) and cut the wires

It's a push for socialism. EV's will mean community ownership, not self-realization. And the commenter below who says we need to be ok earning less money is probably stoned.
Socialism is spreading across the globe because the gap between rich and poor has become much to great. Capitalism is failing because it is failing.

  1. Privatize the gains, socialize the losses.
  2. Big money for the few, the rest is lied to and paid minimum.
  3. People spending their lifetime building a company and then it is sold off to China to be scrapped. Not only highly unpatriotic and damaging the country but also a complete waste leaving nothing behind for the generation after us.

this list could be so much longer... so maybe it is just time now for it to fall apart?

And the great reset overlords have already said that private ownership of cars, even BEVs, must end for the good of mother earth. Lords and serfs all over again

To put our money where our mouths are, buy American Made:

Every time you are ready to buy a new car, limit yourself to a selection from ONLY the top 5-6 from this list that's published yearly.

DF has already spent his limited value. He doesn't have much else to offer.

@bjy The goal of selling data is for marketing purposes. You have to produce a tangible product for the marketing to work.

If WWII were fight today the allies would lose. The USA's manufacturing won that war. Now we make squat.

YOU are part of the problem. “Selling data” is NOT producing anything. Do you understand what production really is?

To the person who commented: "producing something of value is what grows economies and keeps them healthy."

Exactly. This is precisely why Ford is changing to a data-based business model. Yes, data has that kind of value. Thankfully leadership like Doug Field is championing this path. It is the right one for this era of the automotive industry in America.

@OP. Globalization cannot be stopped. The advances in communications, and the improvement on transporting people and merchandise, has erased the line dividing the countries.

It is true that a country needs manufacturing of some kind to employ those unskilled labor people. Nationalism and the economic barriers associated won't last forever, nor will protect the unskilled workers forever.

I believe the solution is not higher wages and benefits, but resides in the advances of productivity and market competition. If we could achieve lower cost/prices for our needs/wants, we could enjoy a decent living at lower salaries, reducing the need for outsourcing. Of course, in order to achieve this we'd need a real free job market, not one forced to pay higher wages because of politicians (minimum wage laws). We'd need also a free stock market, not one limited with a multitude of laws.

We should learn how to be happy with less material and more human interaction. We should be reducing our population and restricting severely the entrance of unskilled labor immigrants.

Sadly, we don't do the right thing until we are forced to do it. So I am not expecting our politicians to wake up one day and do the proper things. Things will get really bad for many people before the government changes its way. I am not talking something like the crash of 2008. I am talking "Great Depression of 1929" kind of crash. This might take a while then.

Farley is trying to outMusk Tesla but Tesla is just a sugar high. Follow Tesla to your doom. It will end in a grand failure.

@qcs - who took a leak in your Wheaties?

It's a false dichotomy to believe that our specific woes here are either due to CarCar or due to Globalization. Both are absolutely at play here.

We were saying that this would be a problem all the way back when Bill Clinton was pushing it. Having a healthy service component to the overall economy is a good thing, but in the end it comes down to the fact that producing something of value is what grows economies and keeps them healthy.

Globalism is dead - they probably feel it in their bones by now. They will unleash h3ll on us and it will be ugly (disease, "vaccine", war, etc. all over again, they're not very bright), but we shall prevail.

Id--t. Jim Farley is a FAKE. He did nothing at Toyota. He backstabbed his way to CEO of Ford and has fu---d thousands to keep his job. Shove globalization up your a-s and your job that you are about to get fired from.
