The office is an actual fu----g slave matrix. Imagine waking up to an alarm clock before the sun rises every weekday to shove some garbage cereal down your throat (if you’re lucky) as you shout at the ones you love the most to help you avoid being late to an environment you can’t naturally stand to be in the presence of others who did the same thing and pretend you’re all enjoying it while all you can think about is leaving, everyday, until you retire. Don’t be that person.
No, getting less work, follow up and communication from those working at home. Not even the minimum effort to get the job done in some cases. I am sure there are some exceptions, but I would consider the wfh model a failure.
Hopefully there is a vaccine for climate changes to save us!

It should be up to mid management. In some cases it makes sense for people to be in office, in other situations it makes NO sense and is a complete waste of time/effort/money. Those in the high tower in NYC have no idea which is which for specific roles. Management does, so it should be up to them and based on perf. If someone isn't able to be productive at home, NP, have them in office 5 days a week. If someone works for home and is a high performer, no need for them to come in. It's pretty common sense really.
@1kpw+1iNiLosx — So what about the two years we did this successfully during the fake pandemic? Additionally, what about every other company who allows it and is doing just fine with reduced overhead and happier employees? Get a fu----g life.
You can either offshore/outsource and have a geographically diverse workforce that collaborate virtually, or, have everyone located together physically.

Work from home should be optional and for not more than 2 days per week, but your choice of which days. If the days clash with others, a routine can be worked out. Need to keep occupancy in the office as rent does get paid and it affects the bottom line.
These posts are as tiring as Covid. Move on Covid out, RTO here to stay. S_ck it up or quit. Better yet do some actual work.

I am too busy collaborating with everyone in the office to actually get any work done. Who wants a qu----e?
do so more research.....there are some that are 100% they lose some $ with that "benefit" too
Yes- why we have to go into an office to sit on a phone call is beyond me. Yes- come in for brainstorming and important meetings, no to day to day work.
A few bad actors threaten to ruin it for the rest of us.

My manager and I are on a ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ basis.
He doesn’t ask if I’m in the office, and I don’t lie to him. Somehow he is still able to contact me any minute of the day, despite being in an office that is 700 miles away.
Well, that’s the direction of the industry. Close up all the branches. Just like Starbucks closing stores. Safer for employees. I find it’s less stressful not to go to a branch. Tired of watching my back.
Those who work from home effectively, and who are in roles that don't require an in-office presence should be allowed to work from home.
