Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Headcount and staffing issues , nobody cares

In the retail stores it’s been the same challenge for the past two years. They keep stressing us out and molding everyone into working harder with more responsibilities so they can justify not hiring or increasing headcount. Unfortunately I was never a believer in a union but the time has come to put it on the table. If anyone can give me some info as to who to call to get the ball rolling and how I should approach things it would be great. Several of us want to make this move but we are oblivious to how it all works but we need a voice. Stores interested are located in central and northern Connecticut.

What happens if someone wants to go union and they end up getting fired? Could the employee then sue the ti-s out of VZ and get a nice settlement of cash before it hits the media??

Asking for a friend

Google your local union office. Probably, most likely going to look into CWA. Find the contact us and reach out to someone there. I am in management and am telling you where to start. I think yall need a union. Would make my life easier...believe it or not. If you know anyone that's in wireline or AT&T get the contact info for their union contacts.

If your job only requires standing and talking as the only requirements--im not sure a union is for you.

Here's the thing. For years I never believed in going union because I felt like there was fair compensation and motivation to work hard. But everytime they changed the comp plan in the last 5 years I've had more money stripped from my comissions. And all we can do as reps is bend over and take it or quit. They can say our voice matters but I think our voice is never heard or cared about and should be spoken for by representation of a union so that someone can tell this leadership team how we really feel rather than another stupid pointless survey that gets blamed on our GM's for not dumping all the koolaid on our heads and telling us not to think for ourselves.

Don't waste your time or money. The union has no control over staffing or job responsibilities in wireless.
