Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

My advice

I have been with Fiserv for more than 15 years. Majority of it remote and still remote. My recommendation is to
Ignore the old man. We all know he has never delivered in any company he ran, but only to tarnish the brand. The key to success is to focus on the customer, customer will never fail you. As for Frank, can’t possibly survive. I am concerned about his vision and his understanding of Fiserv. Fiserv is more than Clover. I have seen this movie before, his days are numbered. Certainly, our customers are concerned , they understand my capabilities and my limitations. Some have requested a deconversion process and others are monitoring closely.

Don't fool yourself, because you're not fooling anyone else. FB is running Fiserv into the ground, and customers are leaving, good employees are leaving, and Fiserv will die. FB will still have his galas and gluttonous wealth after he's ruined this once good company and the lives of the people, and their families, who've worked hard for it over the years.

Perhaps I am naive but I do not understand how FB is allowed to also be chairman of board? Seems like conflict of interest.

JY is a good man? Is that why you are on this site complaining about the ogre that JY ceded the Company to? You’re in pain and the great JY is in Malibu living very large. When the “merger” was first announced, the word was that JY had an agreement to bow out and leave things to Frankie. Proved to be true. You didn’t get the memo.

Be sure to fully read the non-compete language, it's not user friendly, no surprise there, and comes from the JY era. In reviewing it with an attorney, it is actually rather vague with specific call outs for the kinds of roles restricted to work for competitors or customers. Courts generally do not like these agreements, so they have to be specific. If you aren't copying files or poaching others, you should be fine. Those in product or sales roles are definitely more specifically targeted by the restrictions. Don't feel your hands are tied by it until you've really read each clause and call out.

If you’ve received stock it has a non-compete.

What can you do about Frank, next to nothing. The only thing you can do is quit and take your knowledge to a competitor.

Things were not great under JY, but you could at least understand (maybe not agree with) his choices. He also actually allowed people under him to make decisions. F and G are the only two making decisions now, even for the most minor items. I don’t respect or agree with any of their choices.

Also let us be clear on one thing, with the in the office fights on this board. Fiserv is a big company, rules will be stricter in certain BU’s. Heck 10-12 years ago there was a BU you had to wear suites but another you could wear shorts. Some BU’s paid on call, some didn’t. Corporate gives minimum guidelines, BU’s can be stricter.

They already started. Last week analysts questioned the quality of our margins, we know why our margins are bad, not because of expenses only, but because of low morale, we deliver less, sometimes is intentional. We gave our hearts and souls to Jeff Y. , because he was a good man, he took care of his employees.
