Who'll do the work if they do? I'll be done once and for all if that happens. I'm not accepting any more of other people's work from now on. I am already doing way too much. If they do this, I'm certain many more people will decide it's better to walk away than stay and see our work double or triple for the same pay.

Then why are several departments hiring?
They will contract departments out. Not a hard process and saves the company a ton of money.Pack your bags :)

Reminds me of the first email Humana sent me about working for them. “We can easily replace you with a robot so be grateful you punk”
Ok here is the deal . If they are only looking at numbers then it’s wrong . In our department we have nurses that work and nurses that cheat . For example you get a touch for doing a clinical review , a touch for a communication record , a touch for dc plan .. etc . So the working nurses work brand new cases and do clinical reviews They take much longer and are more work . The lazy nurses fax out 20 discharge requests and they are done . Leadership is aware and doesn’t care . So the numbers are fake .
It probably won’t double or triple since the work and workload will be different

They can and will. It's business pure and simple. So either suck it up or leave but don't be naive. Unfortunately, this is the way it works.
